About / Background & approach
Engineering, software & people.
I’m a Chemical Engineer by training, with a career shaped by industrial software, immersive technology and the people who build and use it.

From process engineering to simulation
I studied Chemical Engineering at Loughborough University, graduating with a BEng (Hons), 2:1, in 2010. An industrial placement at Technical Simulation Consultants (TSC) from September 2008 to approximately October 2009 introduced me to dynamic simulation and operator training through the TSC7 generic simulation redevelopment.
Returning as a Simulation Engineer, I worked on compressor-station and gas-storage simulations, hydraulic modelling and thermodynamic behaviour. Working with operating data, P&IDs and real control systems gave me a practical foundation for later software and product decisions.
Building immersive industrial products
As Senior Simulation Engineer and later 3D Development Manager, my work expanded across customer delivery, people management, product ownership and solution architecture. I became Product Owner and solution architect for TSC’s Virtual Plant and immersive learning products, connecting dynamic simulation, Unity environments, control rooms and cloud delivery.
I led the 3D Studio, managed customer accounts including Halliburton, Centrica Storage and Liberty Steel, and coordinated simulation engineers, 3D developers and delivery partners. The Liberty Steel rolling-mill digital twin and BP’s Walkinside-based Immersive Training Simulator were among the major projects I led.
Leading engineering software development
In April 2026, I moved into the Development Manager role across TSC’s wider engineering software function. My responsibilities included development planning, product strategy, resource allocation, estimates and milestone-based acceptance testing, alongside continued technical involvement.
I enjoy translating an operational need into a workable technical solution: understanding the customer’s problem, setting priorities and helping a team deliver something useful. My experience includes requirements capture, technical and commercial proposals, customer training and long-term support.
I finished at TSC on 4 October 2026 and am now available for new opportunities. Alongside building this portfolio, I’m working towards PMP certification and IChemE chartership.
Beyond work
I’m based in Nottingham. Away from engineering, my interests include sim racing, home servers and self-hosted technology, mountain biking, PC and VR gaming, astronomy and live music.
